New ReOpening Details!

Huge thanks to everyone who supported us to make it through this unprecedented shutdown.  It’s been a strange couple of months but we’re ready to get back to the gym!

 

As we reopen classes we’ve got two main goals:

  1. Safety - Both for Coronavirus and in getting back to barbell and pull up workouts

  2. Access - To get everyone equal access to the new limited class sizes.

 

New Schedule and Capacity:

 

To reach those goals we’ll have a new class schedule:

 

6AM, 7AM, 9AM, 4:30PM, 5:30PM, 6:30PM - M-F

9AM, 10AM, 11AM - Saturday

1-3PM Open Gym Sunday (Which will still be scheduled and capped)

 

Each class will be capped at 6 people and 45 min in length to ensure proper distancing before, during, and after classes.  We’ll be running ZOOM workouts and record/upload a live workout just as we’ve been doing for the last two months.

We’ll be using a new scheduling program to reserve class times.  This system will go live on Thursday at Noon to schedule for the following week.  Everyone gets 3 classes a week and as such we’ll be moving everyone on an Unlimited Membership down to 3 times - this is likely to change as we move forward but until we have a better sense of everyone’s availability we want to ensure everyone gets an equal opportunity to workout.

 

To that effect we’ll be tiring the sign ups: Members who stuck with us throughout will have priority scheduling starting Thursday, Everyone else will get to schedule Saturday at Noon.  (While it’s a pretty small percentage of you that pay cash each month, you’ll be included in the first group.)

 

Please DO NOT sign up for more than 3 Classes - the new booking system is a little clunky so please don’t try to take advantage scheduling more classes or the next week in advance even if it allows you to, you’ll just be making more work for me to void them all manually and email you a slap on the wrist.

 

At the gym:

 

Rules at the gym are going to be very similar and in some cases a more deliberate extension of what we had before the shutdown.

 

  • Each athlete will have their own station.  All equipment, mats, cleaning materials, whiteboards, etc. will be maintained within that station.  Except for running, everything you can do in a workout will be maintained within your assigned station.

  • In your station you’ll be facing a wall so that we aren’t breathing in the direction of another athlete (even from a 6ft+ distance).

  • Fans will blow strategically around the gym - but not directly on and past athletes, which would increase respiratory droplet spread

  • Shirts are to be worn at all times, Men and Women (no sports bra only)

  • Chalk will be limited.  I’m experimenting with liquid chalk to see what the spread is like.  There will be NO loose chalk in the gym - it spreads too easily.

 

  • Arrive no more than 5 Min in Advance.

  • Wash your Hands

  • No Children or other guests in the waiting area.

  • Please arrive ready to workout if possible.  Classes are shortened so you don’t have 5min at the start of class to change.

  • No drop-ins of family or friends without being scheduled (Contact Dmac directly for scheduling but DO NOT 

  • When class is done, wash your hands, gather your things, and leave.  No hanging out chatting while the other class arrives.

 

Finally, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this new normal.  I'm sure there will be snags along the way but we've always strived to make a fair and safe gym for you to workout in.  We'll see you soon!
